Stuntin' Like My Daddy

I'm sorry I haven't posted in FOREVER. I don't even know if anyone still checks the blog, but I wanted to update it regardless. Once school and the wedding are behind me and I invest in a new camera, I will begin posting more often.

Martez is becoming more and more of a little boy...no more baby :(. He has the most adorable personality always wanting to be the center of attention as you can see by the pictures. He is a very sweet boy giving hugs and kisses to everyone. He says quite a few words (dog aka woof woof, car, up, thank you, baby, Kyler, juice, hungry...) and of course he has his own language that I am slowely beginning to learn. He still loves to read books and I must say he is quite a dancer. I will post a video of him dancing soon...SO CUTE! There is so much to say that I can't seem to get it all down right now, but I will add more soon. Enjoy the cute pics!

He is always wanting to wear my glasses, so I got him a pair of his own, which he loves. He actually keeps them on and thinks he is sooo cool...LOL.

My first trip to the Children's Museum

While I was in Nashville last weekend, Morris took Martez to the Children's Museum for the first time. As you can see, he had a ball!!! They were there for about 2 hours when they had to close, and Martez didn't want to leave. We are definitely going to make the museum a regular trip :)

MY APOLOGIES

Okay, so now that I have finally updated my blog and I actually have enough energy to post more I have to apologize for taking 2 months to post. I hope I still have some blog fans out there! I missed Christmas and New Years, but Martez's Great Grandma became ill just before Christmas and passed away 2 days after Christmas. Martez was able to have a fun Christmas, but our lives were very hectic during those couple of weeks. I am so glad that Grandma had that opportunity to meet Martez and spend some time with him his first 11 months. She loved him so much and he brought so much joy to her everytime she saw him. She made sure to give updates on Martez to everyone she passed. I cannot put into words the type of person she was, but she will truly be missed.

My Aunt Kathy was the one who was always calling me every week telling me to post new pictures of Martez on the blog. Unfortunately, she got hospitalized and passed away 3 weeks after my grandmother passed away. These past 2 months have been filled with tragedy, but Martez keeps happiness in our lives. These two women loved Martez dearly, and it is unfortunate that he did not get to spend more time with him in this life, but he will see them again. WE LOVE YOU BOTH!!!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY!!!!

(Sigh...) Where has this year gone? 365 days ago God blessed us with the most precious thing life can offer. Martez has brought more love to our lives that I would have ever imagined. Looking back at the past year, I would have to say that being a mother was much different than I had imagined. It was easier, more fun, and much more rewarding than I had expected. I know that every child is perfect in their parent's eyes, but I cannot dream of a more perfect baby. I think I might have the worlds happiest baby and he deserves an award for wiping away any negativity from anyones mind in an instant.

Martez, thank you so much for coming into our lives and filling them with nothing but joy. You mean the world to us, and we would do anything for you. This past year was amazing watching you grow and learn right before our eyes. We are so excited for what the years to come have to offer. I hope you know how much we love you.

Love,
Mommy & Daddy

He just had too much action and passed out in the middle of eating his cake with everyone in the room watching him. What a kodak moment!
